Featured: Beach Cottage
Staged Property: Willard Square Beach Cottage
267 Preble Street, South Portland, Maine.
This was a complete renovation project by local builders, Tim and Dick Boardman. They converted a cramped and dark property into a fresh, open, modern beach cottage. The finished space was beautiful but, because it had a fairly open floor plan, the use of the space was a little unclear without furniture. The Real Estate agent and I worked together to come up with a plan. We decided to stage the front room (facing the street) as the dining area, setting up the back room as a more private family room. We staged the large front bedroom as the master and set up the small, cozy back room as a quiet, private home office overlooking the large back yard. The sunroom and back deck were staged for the Open House as these add a lot of livable space to a small cottage. The feedback from the Open House was wonderful.
